19 Portland Place

Service: Fit Out

Sector: Commercial

Portland Place sits in the Marylebone district of central London and is home to the headquarters of the famous British institution, the BBC, as well as the Chinese and Polish embassies and the Royal Institute of British Architects.

With such well-respected neighbours, the Grade II listed office building of 19 Portland Place needed to be sharp inside and out and so the expert team at BSPS were instructed for the full refurbishment internally and externally.

As a listed building constructed in 1775, the building has some stunning period features which the team worked hard to restore and bring back to their former glory.

The team also installed a new lift, fire door upgrades, a new air conditioning system, data installation and emergency lighting.

They were also able to install a new fake mansard, sloping roof to seamlessly fit in with the style of the building which shields the new mechanical plant installed on the existing flat roof.

The building is now a stunning combination of old and new. The original, period features shine but office workers have a sleek, modern space to work in and impress clients.
