Kingsbourne House, London
Service: Decoration & Restoration
Sector: Commercial
High Holborn is a well recognised and prestigious street in London and so BSPS were called in for the restoration of two adjoining office buildings above Holborn Tube Station.
Kingsbourne House and 88 Kingsway are connected, with 88 Kingsway being an impressive Grade II listed Victorian building retaining many original features. BSPS assembled our in-house team of experts to undertake specialised cleaning of the external façade and ornate stone faces.
At 88 Kingsway we replaced the leadwork to the high level dormers and replaced all the timber casement windows,
stripped and re-slated the internal mansard roof, re-covered
the dormers in new lead covering, repaired and eased all the sash windows and undertook masonry repairs and brick pointing.
Working above one of the busiest tube stations in London, the team carefully designed, planned and installed substantial scaffolding. We worked closely with Transport for London (TFL) to ensure the scaffold was erected safely and caused minimal inconvenience to passengers and the general public.
Both buildings are now restored to their former glory and stand out in this busy area of London thanks to the team at BSPS.
